John & Brigette :: Engagement

Navy... not the color, but the military group. What does that have to do with being engaged?

Well to John & Brigette it's going to be their life so soon. John has enlisted in the navy and is going to basic come January. To me, I would be a bit scared that my hubby would be going off to war! But to them, they are so calm and collected, and have a plan already set, which is amazing! Not only do they have a plan, but their chemistry with each other is incredible. They are so full of laughter and smiles. I was giggling with them. What a fun couple!

Could they be any cuter together?

And so silly... which made things a lot of fun!

Look at that ring... so unique!

They LOVE to laugh... which makes me LOVE them even more!

Joe & Niki :: Wedding

As we approach November and are in the midst of our busy wedding schedule right now, I am reminded so much of the day Todd and I got married. It seems as though it was just last Saturday, but in reality it's been almost three years. WOW... where does the time in between then and now go? There are some things that stick out more than others about that day, but one in particular is when I was getting ready to walk down the aisle.

The music of the beautiful piano music started, my girls all lined up, and my dad and I all the way in the back to follow shortly after. The song was beautiful, the girls were stunning, my soon-to-be-husband was down at the end handsome as ever, knowing there was 200+ people in the attendance to watch us was amazing, and what do you know the tears started to fill up my eyes. I was taken back by this because I already saw him earlier that day, but I knew that it was just pure and real emotion overtaking my body. As the doors opened for my dad and I to make the long haul, the music rose and everyone did as well. I took every stride slowly & gracefully knowing at the end of the 30 min or so ceremony, my life would no longer be the same. I tried to hold back the drops of salt water coming from my eyes. As I approached my soon-to-be-husband with a HUGE smile from ear to ear, I was comforted by his expression and I knew this was going to be the absolute BEST day of my life, and until kids come into the picture, it will still be just that. It will be so memorable I will think it just happened last Saturday!

Another memorable wedding for me by far happened just last Saturday (well two weeks ago) with Joe & Niki. Joe & Niki had their wedding and reception at the Dearborn Inn, and we couldn't ask for a better day. They were given such a beautiful day, even with rain the WHOLE entire week and clouds that looked as if it could go either way that day, it stayed clear. Joe & Niki had the most precious first look. It was probably the sweetest thing I've ever witnessed, and I'm sure anyone else there could attest to the same thing. It was as if his breathe was just taken away by her beauty, like the movies. (which I guess in a way they were in a movie with the lovely Two Penny Productions there filming. Ha!) But there were so many great things included in their day, that it was just memorable to me!

Thank you guys for making it special for us as well as you guys! Congratulations and I hope Hawaii is treating you both very nicely this week!!!

Here are just a few of my favorites of them... I had way too many to post so just watch the slideshow.

Niki was absolutely stunning...

Never a dull moment with this couple... can't ask for more!

Photobucket

I always love getting their shoes... Todd would probably say because I have so many in my closet, but I like to think that with the long wedding dresses, no one ever gets to see them... so why not?

Photobucket

This was my favorite of the day... just a true picture of their love and emotions they feel for each other!

Their dance was awesome...

And even a suprise visit from Sparty!

Happy Labor Day!

Labor is something I definitely have been doing a lot of these days. As you can tell by my non-existence on here lately. I apologize over and over but will do my part to not leave my bloggers disappointed no more... even if it's the most random post.

Todd mentioned to me yesterday that it was a "LONG" weekend. I thought the complete opposite, although it was a "LONG" weekend, it was a great long weekend. I got to shoot two beautiful couples Saturday and Sunday, we had beautiful weather, I was with my beautiful husband, I enjoyed a couple beautiful yoga classes, I got to see my aunt & uncle-in-law and good and dear friend of mine that I hadn't seen in quite awhile... I'm sure there was lots more, but what a great "LONG" weekend!

I hope everyone else had a wonderful weekend as well and enjoyed it just as much!

And because posts are much better with photos... here is what Maddox did all weekend... RELAXED, while Mom & Dad worked really hard... I love you buddy!

Jason & Sarah :: Wedding

I LOVE the Beach... I mean LOOOOVEEEE it!!! I could lay in the sand with the sun beaming on my face all day long, and I probably would if we lived closer to a beach.

I was so excited when Jason & Sarah contacted me about shooting there wedding in Muskegon, MI because I was thinking "Beach, here I come!" Sarah lives right on the water and although I wouldn't be able to lay out, I knew that I would have fun with the photos. Even when Mother Nature wanted to rain on our parade, she decided to calm down just in time for us to have some fun outside. I think the sky actually added for some character. Sarah and Jason were married at Berean Church and they were the first couple to have their reception over at Fricano's, which was just finished the day before... talk about a close one. Both of them and their families were awesome, and I LOOOOVED how they included Sarah's dad in their day, as he suddenly passed just last year. I thought it was extra special and extra beautiful!

Best to you both and I hope the Dominican was A-wesome!!!

Here are some of my favorites and a slideshow of their wedding day...

September is Around the Corner... WHAT??

SEPTEMBER? What happened to May, June, July, & August???

I'm still puzzled as to just exactly what happened to those months, but it's true... September will be here next week and I think we can all agree that it just did not feel like summer one bit. Well maybe a sprinkle here and there, but not enough to claim it was "summer".

Thinking about fall brings tears to my eyes, I'm just not ready! I want to put my foot down and say "NO... Not yet!" But unfortunately I have no control over the weather and seasons. If I was in charge of the weather, I would make almost every day a sunny one, but not too hot & not too cold, good clouds, blue skies, beautiful sunrises & sunsets, and every so often a bit of a rainy day so we can appreciate the good days, but never on a day that a wedding would be in play! I guess it's ok to dream big huh?

Happy Thursday...

And because posts are much better with photos, here is Maddox after getting a special gift today. I realized that within the 10 mins he had it, he had ripped both feet off, and was on his way to the wings. I think we just need to stick to his Kongs, he can't hurt those too bad. Poor duck!
