Jason & Sarah :: Wedding

I LOVE the Beach... I mean LOOOOVEEEE it!!! I could lay in the sand with the sun beaming on my face all day long, and I probably would if we lived closer to a beach.

I was so excited when Jason & Sarah contacted me about shooting there wedding in Muskegon, MI because I was thinking "Beach, here I come!" Sarah lives right on the water and although I wouldn't be able to lay out, I knew that I would have fun with the photos. Even when Mother Nature wanted to rain on our parade, she decided to calm down just in time for us to have some fun outside. I think the sky actually added for some character. Sarah and Jason were married at Berean Church and they were the first couple to have their reception over at Fricano's, which was just finished the day before... talk about a close one. Both of them and their families were awesome, and I LOOOOVED how they included Sarah's dad in their day, as he suddenly passed just last year. I thought it was extra special and extra beautiful!

Best to you both and I hope the Dominican was A-wesome!!!

Here are some of my favorites and a slideshow of their wedding day...

Jason was so calm and collected...

September is Around the Corner... WHAT??

SEPTEMBER? What happened to May, June, July, & August???

I'm still puzzled as to just exactly what happened to those months, but it's true... September will be here next week and I think we can all agree that it just did not feel like summer one bit. Well maybe a sprinkle here and there, but not enough to claim it was "summer".

Thinking about fall brings tears to my eyes, I'm just not ready! I want to put my foot down and say "NO... Not yet!" But unfortunately I have no control over the weather and seasons. If I was in charge of the weather, I would make almost every day a sunny one, but not too hot & not too cold, good clouds, blue skies, beautiful sunrises & sunsets, and every so often a bit of a rainy day so we can appreciate the good days, but never on a day that a wedding would be in play! I guess it's ok to dream big huh?

Happy Thursday...

And because posts are much better with photos, here is Maddox after getting a special gift today. I realized that within the 10 mins he had it, he had ripped both feet off, and was on his way to the wings. I think we just need to stick to his Kongs, he can't hurt those too bad. Poor duck!

Joe & Megan :: Wedding

I know I know... I've been a HUGE blog slacker. But no fear, I'm back in action. I had a spontaneous trip to Indiana last week and it stalled my time to blog this beautiful couple.

This is one of the reasons why I went to Indiana... (look at those chubby cheeks!)

Photobucket

Anyways...

Joe & Megan were awesome! Both are so sweet and fun... they did not get down when the weather was less than enjoyable, considering the downpour that lasted most of the day. I think it only stopped to travel to the church. But they both kept their spirits up and were positive about the most important thing that day... to get married! They had opted to have a first look, which I think was great, and had tons of family and friends there to share in the joy. We travelled over to the Mt. Clemens area for the ceremony, which was at St. Peter's Catholic Church, and was very sweet and meaningful... followed by their reception at the Concord Inn in Clinton Township. The whole day, despite the rain, was beautiful... it really is true that you make the best of what you are given, and I think we did just that!

Congratulations you two! We had so much fun and we hope you guys had a great time in Mexico!!!

Here are some of my favorites along with a slideshow of their day...

Omar & Sharla had a small wedding in their backyard, it was so sweet, intimate, and oh so beautiful! Both of them are the sweetest people and it was an honor to be able to capture their ceremony.

Mackinac Island: Last Part of Vacation...

WOW...

That's about all I have to say about Mackinac Island. What an interesting place! I have to say that I LOVED the view of Mackinac from OUTSIDE of the actual "tourist" part much much more. All the shops and mass amount of people made me very claustrophobic, but outside of that... it reminded me of Ireland and the rocky beaches, beautiful blue skies, very green landscapes, and just all around amazing view! I'm glad we went and were able to see the beautiful scenery, but at the time I was wishing for a bit warmer weather and the quick rain session gave me a bit of the chills.

All in all a great trip!

(some of these were taken with the P&S camera... due to the nature of riding bikes and the size of my big camera... not easy to pull of the pocket)

Inside the city was a lot of old vintage things... like this...I haven't seen one of these in person... EVER!

Photobucket

One of the ONLY forms of transportation, except bikes...

Photobucket

This one was very FANCY...

Photobucket

Outside of the city was my FAVORITE...

Photobucket

To get to this rock we had to climb the steepest hill, climbing up that was my workout for the day... pheww...

Photobucket

This reminded me of Ireland with all the rocks...

Photobucket

Right before the rain...

Photobucket

Pan shot... (consisting of 3 different photos)

Photobucket

The Grand Hotel... whoah... FANCY FANCY hotel... has a dress code and all... that's as close as I get in those clothes...

The biggest porch ever!
